“Because of the LORD’s faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning…” Lamentations 3:22-23 End of 2018 & NAMB Apprenticeship The end of 2018 brought reminders of good things as well as an introduction to many new exciting ventures! Like many others, the end of 2018 turned our team to again begin to reflect on the incarnation of Christ and all that it means for the life of a Christian. Such a time was a fuel to remind the team of our God who did not leave us in our state of helplessness but stepped down from Heaven to die in our place! What a blessing to serve a God who not only calls us to live on mission but also first modeled it for us. This season also brought a tremendous blessing to the team as each member was able to go home for the holidays and enjoy God’s gift of family during such a time of reflection. The LORD also determined to bring new things into the life of the team as well. Our lead planter was given an amazing opportunity to become a NAMB Apprentice under church planter and SEND Pittsburgh Missionary Rob Wilton! This will be a time for Cody to continue to grow and learn more for great pastors as we continue on our church planting journey!
Community Groups At the beginning of 2019, Missio Dei launched our first Community Group! In typical Pittsburgh winter fashion, the launch day for the Community Group had a nice breezy -5 degree temperature. Despite even sub-zero temperatures, 8 people met in Cody’s living room to hear the Word of God. Since the first group, despite people’s travels, the group has seen a greater commitment to the group by the first time guests as well as new persons joining! One of the new guests of the Community Group has also provided an amazing evangelism opportunity with a pair of Jehovah’s Witnesses! Want to hear more about that? Be on the look our next month for our coming February update!
Is God Calling you to Pittsburgh?
We are looking for a diverse group of godly men and women to join us in Pittsburgh. We are literally asking you to drop what you are doing and move your life into the unknown with us in a new city. The truth is, you can be that Gospel light in the workplace that someone would never have without you. You can be a gospel light to neighbors we will never meet. If you think God might be calling you to move your life to Pittsburgh with us, I’d encourage you to visit https://www.missiodeicc.com/join-our-launch-team.html. Become a Bridge Partner We are seeking 446 people to become the backbone of our support here in Pittsburgh. With only the change you would use to buy a few cups of coffee, the 446 of us can raise over $100,000 each year to support the planting of a new church. If you have $20 to spare each month and would love to partner with us to reach Pittsburgh, I’d invite you to become a Bridge Partner by signing up at https://www.missiodeicc.com/about.html.

I met Donald Files at a SBCV meeting when you were in the early stages of planning your church plant. I have prayed for your team on many occasions. I just looked at your FB page and see where you have launched a community group. I am praying that the two Jehovah's Witnesses will come to faith in Christ. Are there other specific area's that I can join you in prayer about? I have been a church planter myself and am now in my senior years of ministry. I planted my first church in Richmond, Va. in 1970 with the help of my mentor, Dr. Jerry Falwell. I am presently getting ready to move into a new ministry with an established church that is in decline. Please keep me in your prayers. My heart is in planting churches and I pray as God opens the door, I can encourage this church to get involved in helping church plants. I too have a special interest in Pittsburgh (maybe its because I have been a Steelers fan for years). I pray God will open people's hearts to the gospel and you will lead many to Christ and see your church impact that area in a powerful way. Keep encouraged, God is able!
